WHO ARE ONBOARD COURIERS (OBC)?

Onboard Couriers (OBC) are logistics professionals who personally transport time-critical shipments as carry-on or checked baggage on commercial flights.

OBCs typically handle:

– AOG (Aircraft on Ground) parts required to return grounded aircraft to service and avoid costly delays

– Urgent automotive components needed to prevent production line stoppages

– Sensitive semiconductor and electronic parts

– Critical ship spare parts required when a vessel is out of service or temporarily shut down

– Time-sensitive medical shipments

– Confidential and urgent documents

When express airfreight is not fast enough, an OBC comes in. The courier collects the shipment, boards the next available flight, and personally accompanies shipment to the destination airport, where it is handed over or delivered directly to the final recipient.
